  1. I bought a smoker for Christmas and needed something to use to be able to “pull” pork shoulders and butts apart with after smoking. Bought a pair of these to do that with. These work pretty well but they still do transfer a good amount of heat through them but nowhere near as hot as not having them. They could also be a little more flexible in the finger joints as after about 15 minutes you find yourself really working to bend them.

I was tired of oven mitts that needed to be washed because a finger had dipped into the food while getting a dish out of the oven. I also recommend these for turning shish kabobs (or whatever else) on the grill. The Grill Glove was a great solution. I ordered both this & the Charcoal Companion silicone Mitt. I prefer the mitt, but occasionally you need to get both hands in there & one of each offers me more flexibility so I’m pretty happy with the glove also.

Do these gloves give off a silicone/plastic odor? I cannot seem to find food grade gloves for hard candy handling that do not transfer an odor. Any advise is welcomed!

Great question Karoline. You would think they would have an odor and when you get them they have that rubbery smell just from being new. Once you wash them it goes away. I expect most people would wash their grill glove before they handled food with it.

This is what I needed and I think you’ll agree. Turn food on the grill without utensils. Safely lift items directly from the oven. Easy to clean. One makes all the difference but you’ll need a pair so you can share!

  5. Grill glove is a fine product. It is a little large for my small hand. It is great for my husband.

I purchased my grill glove a couple months ago and not only has it been a wonderful product for bbq but I’ve found tons of other uses in the kitchen for it as well. From handling and slicing whole roasts in the pan to grabbing steam baskets, having a heat resistant glove will offer many valuable uses for a variety cooking applications. Having full finger dexterity is key!
